Tom Jackson Champion
Golf & Tennis Tournament
October 17, 2022
The Tom Jackson Golf Tournament is held in honor of Thomas R. Jackson, a long time Pennington resident and dedicated sports enthusiast. During these trying times, our YMCA operates a food pantry, emergency childcare, summer camp, and will run wrap-around childcare in coordination with our local school district in support of working families.
Kids need us now more than ever! As we begin the safe return to youth sports, let us make sure that family finances don’t prevent any child from participating. Back for its sixth year, the Hopewell Valley YMCA Tom Jackson Champion Golf and Tennis Tournament will be returning to the Trenton Country Club this fall to benefit Hopewell Valley youth. Join the YMCA in celebrating Tom and making a positive impact on the Hopewell Valley community.
MAKING AN IMPACT
Thanks to the support of community members like you, we have raised over $50,000 through this tournament for Hopewell Valley YMCA Youth Sports programming.
Each year, Tom’s friends and family, honor Tom’s commitment to healthy living and promoting an active lifestyle. Through this tournament, Tom’s legacy and love of sports continue in support of the Hopewell Valley YMCA youth sports programs, so every child in the Hopewell Valley community can participate and foster connections through fitness, sports, and fun.
The Tom Jackson Fund, established with proceeds from this tournament, has supported the following Hopewell Valley YMCA programs.
Tom Jackson Afterschool Sports Incentive: This fund provided affordable access to families enrolled in HV YMCA’s Before and After School Care for YMCA’s afterschool sports, effectively doubling enrollment!
Tom Jackson Sports Camp: In addition to traditional day camp, the Hopewell Valley YMCA offers the Tom Jackson Sports Camp, allowing kids to experience a variety of sports in a fun and inclusive environment.
Tom Jackson Wrestling Scholarship: $3500 in scholarships have been given to Hopewell Valley wrestling seniors with the spirit of a champion.

Provided Emergency Childcare: When the pandemic shit down schools and childcare facilities, the HVYMCA mobilized quickly to provide emergency childcare to essential workers in our and surrounding communities. As schools have re-opened with limited hours, the Y provided gap care to give children a safe place to learn and play between programs.
Continued Before and After School Care and Camps: The HVYMCA continues to provide quality Before and After School care for children at all HVRSD District elementary schools and deliver summer camp safely while allowing the children to engage in summer fun and STEM opportunities.
Distributed food to families in need:The HVYMCA and partners created the Hopewell Valley Mobile Food Pantry to deliver food to families in need.
